Wellington

We took the ferry from Picton to Wellington and had a wander round town. Then drove up to Mt Victoria and went in search of the Hobbits.

We eventually found the route down to the film location. It is pretty impossible to spot, luckily we had a basic guide pointing us in the right direction. The locations look nothing like they do in the film a little dissapointing but, it is a national park after all.

The other locations just outside of Wellington were a bit similar to the film however a local WETA guide told us that Peter Jackson, took the ground from one area a tree from another, mountains from the south isalnd and then worked it all together with a bridge that was 2inches tall. It makes trying to remember the scens a little difficult.

After Wellington we journeyed on to a place called Napier.
